To mark the launch of the new 5 Series Saloon, Astle have collaborated with local Colleges to create two Contemporary Art Gallery’s within our dealerships at Grimsby Road, Laceby and Old Crosby, Scunthorpe featuring the BMW theme “An Exploration of Beauty”. Local artists are students studying at: EastCoast School of Art and Design, Franklin College, John Leggott College, North Lindsey College and Lincoln School of Art & Design. Launching the new 5 Series Saloon together with Contemporary Art is the perfect way to show BMW’s pioneering concepts and future technologies as works of art.

The new 5 conveys a muscular yet elegant presence with the longest wheelbase in its class. The engine line-up consists of seven fuel-efficient powerplants, including, for the first time, the powerful six-cylinder 535i. While capable of zero to 62mph in 6.0 seconds, the 535i also achieves 33.2mpg and CO₂ emissions of just 199g/km. Standard specification is notably enhanced over its predecessor.

All models come with Dakota leather upholstery, BMW Professional Radio and Bluetooth telephone preparation. The car also offers a wealth of optional equipment to further enhance safety, comfort and enjoyment, including Park Assist, the remarkable self-park system.

Equally impressive is the extensive portfolio of BMW EfficientDynamics technologies featured as standard; these lower emissions and improve performance across the range. Brake Energy Regeneration, for example, recharges the battery during braking or coasting, using energy that would otherwise be wasted.
